Do I lose anything if I never subscribe to Pro?
No. Every feature in the YourPods app is included in the one-time $4.99 purchase, and nothing is locked behind Pro — now or ever. If you self-host with a gPodder server, your subscription and listen-position sync are free too. Pro only adds optional cloud extras: the web player, hosted cross-platform sync, notes, and stats.
Do I need the YourPods iOS app?
No. The web player works entirely standalone on Android, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, and any modern browser — sign up, subscribe, and listen. Pro is designed to complement the iOS app with cross-device sync, but it's fully functional on its own.
What is a PWA?
A Progressive Web App (PWA) is a website that you can install directly from your browser — no app store needed. Once installed, it works just like a regular app: it gets its own icon on your home screen, runs in its own window, supports offline downloads, and sends notifications. YourPods Pro is a PWA, so it works on virtually every device.
Does YourPods Pro work on Android?
Yes! Install YourPods Pro as a PWA from Chrome or any Chromium-based browser on your Android device. You get full offline downloads, background playback, and a home screen icon — the same experience as a native app. We also include step-by-step install instructions right inside the app.
I already bought the app. Do I get free sync?
Yes! If you have the iOS app, you can create a free YourPods Sync account directly from within the app — no credit card needed. Free Sync gives you cross-device subscriptions and listen position sync. Pro adds the web player, stats, annotations, and more.
I already bought the app. Is Pro included?
YourPods Pro is a separate, optional cloud subscription. The iOS app remains a one-time $4.99 USD purchase with no subscriptions — everything you bought is still yours. Pro adds the web player, stats, and features that require server infrastructure.
Where does my subscription go?
Directly to funding YourPods development. We're an indie team with no VC funding, no ads, and no data sales. Your Pro subscription pays for servers, development time, and keeping YourPods independent.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the account portal or directly through Stripe. Your local library and downloads remain untouched — you'll simply return to the free Sync tier.
How does the 15-day trial work?
When you sign up, you get full access to every Pro feature for 15 days. You'll enter payment info at signup, but you won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial and pay nothing. If you don't subscribe, your account reverts to the free Sync tier.
